The short story: my name was available so I reserved it as a domain. It is exceedingly simple to point friends and family to the internet and say “just enter my name.” But it also sounds self-important to have a website with your name on it. And then you wonder if the content of the site says something by what’s in it (or what’s not in it) to justify such a thing. And then you being pondering the conceit of mankind and legacy and it all wanders down to the philosophy end of the campus. In hindsight I wish I’d been more clever with names for websites.
Regardless, here we are. Too late to make this website sound important, so let’s muster some purpose for it.
Option A: You might know of the 501st Legion International Star Wars costuming organization. I founded it in 1997 on its original website on Geocities, named Detention Block 2551. It is now an enormous success, with tens of thousands of members in over sixty countries. I played a tiny part in that, so perhaps you know me from that. Also, the Walking Wounded, Galactic Academy, and R2-KT and her AmbassaDroids Corps. If so, welcome! I have a section dedicated to telling a little history of my involvement in Star Wars fandom and the links page can take you to those places. Thank you for being a part of a fan movement that changes lives! It truly is special and I’m very proud of it and proud of you for being a part of it.
Option B: I write and develop fantasy fiction and gaming resources for writing projects and for D&D. I started playing D&D in 1983 and was hooked by the beauty of its storytelling possibilities. I began developing a fantasy world called Nemmyrl and it has grown to the point I needed a place to host information on it. So, there is a section dedicated to that.
Option C: You know me personally and looked me up and found this site. You won’t find many photos of family here – those are hosted elsewhere, oddly enough. You can find much more about me on social media such as Facebook and the like. I find those more efficient in posting bulletins on the family and daily things.
So, if none of those interest you then this is likely just another vanity site. If you know another Albin Johnson and I’m not him, then perhaps email me at albin@albinjohnson.com (yes, very practical). Love to hear about him.
Okay, that’s about it. By for now and in all things I wish you well.
