Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I order all the coins? Or just the ones I qualify for based on my years of service?
A: You can order any and all coins for which your years of service qualify. For example, trooper with 11 years service can get the 1, 5, and 10-year coins. Please order ONLY the years of service you have completed. It wouldn’t be honorable to carry a service coin you haven’t earned yet. But that’s why we’re keeping this open from now on, you can order coins when you reach your service time!

Q: Can I order multiple copies of a coin I qualify for?
A: Yes. Some will want to display one copy while carrying another, or they might want a back-up if they lose the coin. We only ask that you do not trade the coins, as they mark a recognition of your personal service.

Q: Are these official 501st Legion merchandise?
A: No, these are tokens of recognition from the Legion Founder, Albin Johnson. Much like in the military a unit commander will issue coins to his/her subordinates for service to the unit, these are issued by the Founder to recognize those who served in the Legion.

Q: I’m a year shy of qualifying for a certain coin. Can I just order it now so I make sure I have it after this run is over?
A: No, you can order the coin when you qualify for it. We are keeping this run open for the foreseeable future so everyone will have access to the coins they deserve.

Q: Can I order for another trooper to combine with my order?
A: Yes. Just include the Legion ID numbers for all the personnel for whom the order was placed. It is a great idea for Garrisons to place a bulk order for interested members. It saves on item cost and shipping.

Q: I don’t know the dates of my service. How can I look that up?
A: Just email me at trooper.tk210@gmail.com and we can try to research that.

Q: Can I order multiples of the 1-year and 5-year coins for the newer members of our Garrison?
A: Yes. As long as you vouch as a member of the Legion that these will be presented to fellow members as their official service coins, that will be fine.

Q: Can I order multiple “H” coins to give to kids or supporters of the Legion?
A: Yes. The “H” coins are a token of friendship to honor those who support the Legion and our efforts. They do not denote official status as Honorary Members of the Legion, that is still handled by the application process to Legion command. But they can be issued to Honorary Members/Friends of your unit.

Q: What if a current or former member can’t afford a coin?
A: If you know someone who served but can’t afford a coin, email me. We will get that Legionnaire their coin! Even if it is you – do not hesitate to let me know. Every Legionnaire deserves recognition of their service!
